Harris Chain of Lakes Map
The Harris Chain is
part of the Ocklawaha River Basin. From the headwaters at Lake Apopka in
Orlando, the water flows north through the Harris Chain of Lakes
funneling into the Ocklawaha River through the Ocala National Forest.
Here the river merges with the
crystal clear waters of Ocala's famous Silver Springs. Flowing
into the St. Johns River at Welaka, the St. Johns River terminates
at the Atlantic Ocean in Jacksonville, making it one of the few
rivers in the world that flows north. |
